Speedmaster planetary gears are cut with a straight tooth instead of the helical cut tooth. This offers strength and no thrusting while torque is applied. The 8-pinion rear planetary carrier is made from 4340 steel. The 6-pinion front planetary is constructed from investment cast steel.
